Slow Progress

Slow Progress

Are days shorter, seasons condensed, years reduced to the twinkling of an eye? Probably not – but it seems like it. Currently working on the fifth novel but lucky to manage 500 words a day. OK I churn out 1,000 or more but, editing as I go and tightening-up dialogue to its essence, trims the day’s output back to reality. Perhaps I should start earlier, work later, type faster but I don’t think it would help. Time to face the fact that I’m a slower writer today than 15 years ago but, I dare to tell myself, a better writer too.
